How are you feeling today? If you are looking at my website I guess life's not so great right now. If you are feeling overwhelmed by strong emotions, or if you feel weird and disconnected and can't really feel anything much at all, I would like to meet you.

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and work with men and women who are experiencing a wide range of issues including anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, anger, the after effects of PTSD and complex trauma (such as flashbacks and dissociation), loneliness and suicidal feelings which make it feel as if life's not worth living. Or is there something you can't quite put your finger on?

As well as general counselling I have specialised in three areas: trauma and abuse of all types, bereavement and relationships. Abuse can be sexual, emotional, physical or relational and neglect is also a form of abuse. My experience of supporting survivors of child sexual abuse includes two years on the NAPAC helpline (www.napac.org.uk) and over three years at a counselling agency which specialises in supporting men and women who want to understand and process the effects of childhood abuse, sexual violence experienced at any age or abusive relationships in adulthood. I am familiar with hearing about the trauma which survivors have been through and the issues they are left with.

I was a bereavement counsellor with a national charity for several years so I am aware of how an unresolved bereavement can cause difficulties, particularly when a child suffers the death of a parent, but the death of somebody we care about can be traumatic at any age. Losing a baby or a child (which includes miscarriage and termination) or a death which is sudden or a suicide, can be life-changing. I also support women (and their partners) who have experienced birth trauma.

As well as working with individuals I have a strong interest in relationships and I am a Relate trained and qualified relationship counsellor. I support individuals and couples who need to work through their relationship issues in a safe place.
